Community Work ServiceServing Your Community, Repairing The HarmCWS allows youth to help their community in a variety of ways, including clean-up, help with special events, playing with young children or visiting with a senior. Youth completing their hours are given the chance to repair the harm, connect with their community, and learn something about themselves.CWS Meetings cover: • How the offense hurt them, their family, and their community • How helping others begins to repair harm • Potential sites in their neighborhood and larger community • How to make the contact and track of hours • Expectations and limitations associated with CWS • Feedback on performance and a chance to process how they have helped
YSB Staff and Volunteers will occasionally offer CWS “Work Crews”. Work crews are 4-8 hour shifts working on our Adopted Highways in Stillwater and Cottage Grove, and our Adopted Park, with the help of Target, in Woodbury, MN.
Other projects include helping with local events or painting and maintenance with local Department of Public Works and Parks and Recreation.
