Restorative Justice Conferences
The Chance to Apologize, The Chance to Heal

Victims and Offenders come together to share how they have been affected by the incident and decide how to repair harm, in a safe, neutral atmosphere.

RJC includes:

  • Pre-meetings before participating
  • Uninterrupted opportunities to share how they were impacted
  • Contracts are created by the participants

RJP Participants Speak

Youth
Thanks to the conference I was able to avoid a felony and make-up for how I hurt the victim, the community and my parents.

Parent
Meeting with the victim has given my daughter a fuller understanding of how her actions have affected others.

Victim
I never thought meeting with the girls who damaged our home could lead to such wonderful friendships for my daughter or the creation of a great group for girls in our community.

RJP contracts

May include restitution, community work service, counseling, research, chemical evaluations, as well as a variety of other options.

Restitution

Repayment of financial losses the victim has experienced.  YSB staff collects and distributes money from youth who need to or wish to repay the victim.
