The YSB partners with the Stillwater Area Public Schools to create safer schools where students learn and thrive.
CHEMICAL HEALTH PREVENTION PROGRAM
Is a joint initiative that places a Chemical Health Prevention Specialist at the secondary schools. She works with individual students, makes classroom presentations and works with parents and faculty around chemical health issues. Start up funding was provided by the Stillwater Rotary Club, Lakeview Foundation and the school district.
YOUTH and COMMUNITY ACCCOUNTABILITY and PREVENTION PROGRAM (YCAPP)
Is a joint initiative to deal with student conduct issues in more productive ways. A student, with parent permission, attends YCAPP in lieu a suspension from school. A special education teacher ensures that the student keeps up with the missed classes and the YSB Coordinator helps the student deal with the behavioral issues.
Thanks to this program, school behavioral issues decreased and learning issues get identified and resolved.
